Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Computing and Academic Studies is seeking a regular, part time (0.8 FTE) Faculty to teach anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology to students in allied health fields.
Duties & Responsibilities
Our instructors teach a diverse community of students in a variety of allied health programs and help prepare them for rewarding careers in the healthcare industry.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a Master of Science degree in Anatomy, Physiology, or related area. A PhD is preferred.
  • Training in pedagogical techniques employed in teaching human anatomy and physiology at the post-secondary level would be an asset.
  • Previous experience teaching anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology courses at the post-secondary level with full course responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively on course development.
  • Strong understanding of clinical applications of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology concepts.
  • Ability to adapt knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology to meet the needs of students in allied health fields of study.
  • Proficiency with human laboratory instruments including physiology data acquisition systems.
  • Familiarity with neurophysiology techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to co-teach in a multidisciplinary teaching and learning environment.
  • Openness to learning basic work processes in allied health fields, including medical laboratory science, nuclear medicine, and prosthetics and orthotics.
  • Ability to teach in an integrated concept-based curriculum using active learning strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience with educational technology and teaching online.
  • Team player committed to a collaborative approach to education in health sciences.

Salary Range Salary Range: $63,150 - $110,238 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
