Position Summary | BCIT’s School of Energy is seeking a temporary, part time (0.5 FTE) Faculty to deliver lectures and laboratory activities in-person, evaluate (including marking) student progress, and support the day-to-day operations of the department. As valued members of our team of respected faculty with extensive industry experience and knowledge, the ideal candidates will bring practical skills to the classroom, inspiring and guiding future practitioners in their field. BCIT is a leader in hands-on practical education. We are looking for individuals passionate about learning and teaching to join our team. BCIT’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Technology offers diplomas in electrical engineering technology with options in electrical power and industrial control, telecommunications and networking, and automation and instrumentation, as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering. |
Duties & Responsibilities | The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in subject areas related to electrical engineering and technology. Specifically, the successful candidates will be expected to teach ELEX 3525 – Data Communications in accordance with the current course outline. A course description is available at the link above and course material is also available from prior terms and may be used. As a passionate educator, the successful candidate will leverage their expertise to engage and challenge students while fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. Additionally, the successful candidates will be responsible to meet the course learning objectives, participate in department activities, engage with team members, support continuous improvement initiatives within the department, and perform other duties in accordance with the collective agreement. |

Salary Range | Salary Range: $63,150 - $110,238 per annum. |
Additional Salary Information | Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement. |
