Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Computing and Academic Studies is seeking 1 regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Faculty, Computer Systems Technology/Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science.

In BCIT’s Computer Systems Technology department you will use your experience, your training, your passion for technology and your passion for teaching and mentoring to help our students learn to turn big challenges into new solutions.

BCIT’s Computer Systems Technology department is seeking highly talented, motivated, and qualified professionals ready for the next level and next challenge in their careers to be Instructors both at our Burnaby campus and our Downtown campus. Candidates must have strong communication skills and will be required to assume responsibilities for curriculum development and academic leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities
Applicants with skills and industry expertise in one or more of the following areas will be given preference:

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum three years of current and relevant industry experience in a project environment
  • Minimum two years leading or managing project teams
  • Minimum related Master’s degree, PhD an asset
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for teaching computing
  • Experience teaching topics in project management, software development, and related technologies in a post-secondary education environment considered an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
  • Online teaching experience considered an asset

Salary Range Salary Range: $63,150 - $110,238 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
