Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Energy is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) BCGEU Faculty to prepare and deliver courses in the Machinist programs.
Duties & Responsibilities
The areas of instruction include manual machining and CNC machining, as well as complementary skills such as math, CAD, CAM and safety to support apprentice, machinist foundation and CNC technician programs. The subject matter delivered includes both theory and practical skills.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Machinist or Tool and Die Interprovincial Certificate or BC Certificate of Qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent work experience in the machining field.
  • CNC machining experience required.
  • CAM CNC programing experience required.
  • Skills and abilities to instruct the machinist curriculum.
  • Current computer literacy required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Supervisory and leadership experience in industry.
  • Teaching credential is preferred or the willingness to enroll in the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program.
  • Teaching and/or curriculum development experience would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams.

Salary Range Salary Range: $78,133 - $115,805 per annum.

Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment.
