Position Summary
BCIT’s Information Technology Services department is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Intermediate Systems Analyst. This position will function as part of our Service Enablement team. IT Services is a dynamic environment with a passion for service to our students, faculty, and staff. The Service Enablement team provisions service management solutions for IT Services and other service departments across the Institute. 

This position works under general direction and occasional supervision, and the successful applicant will be responsible for providing creative and customized service management solutions. The primary focus of this position will be to implement IT Service Management and Enterprise Service Management solutions to enhance service offerings across the institute. 
Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of the Service Enablement team, you will have shared responsibilities to:

  • Gather requirements and map processes to assist our clients with customized service management solutions
  • Perform service management platform administration and configuration
  • Work with clients, team members, and professional services partners to design solutions and resolve configuration issues
  • Configure, implement, and enhance processes and workflows within the service management platform
  • Design and configure dashboards and reports
  • Configure and implement integrations with other supporting systems and tools
  • Develop, document and enhance support procedures, processes, and training materials
  • Perform troubleshooting, problem analysis, documentation, resolution, and escalation for service management platform issues
  • Participate in departmental projects and initiatives, as appropriate
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Institute of Technology diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in science or business; and
  • A minimum of four (4) years current relevant experience in an IT environment similar to BCIT; including two (2) of the past four (4) years in a similar position: or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Must have demonstrated specific current IT knowledge
  • Proven commitment to providing and maintaining the highest level of customer service
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet changing priorities and multi-task while meeting strict deadlines
  • Must be a team player and work well with cross-departmental teams
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge and techniques
  • Commitment to regular ongoing professional development (including specific IT skills, professional associations and current industry trends)
  • High level of professionalism and ethics
Desired Qualifications:
  • Requirements gathering and process mapping experience
  • Recent experience using, administering and/or configuring service management platforms such as ServiceNow, Cherwell, or other enterprise-level service management platforms
  • Familiarity with core ITSM practices such as Incident Management, Service Request Management, Problem Management, Knowledge Management, and Change Enablement
  • ITIL V4 Foundation certificate and/or ITIL V4 Managing Professional designation
  • Familiarity with relational databases, JavaScript, and REST API

Salary Range Salary Range: $63,288 - $86,643 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
