Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Business + Media is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.08 FTE) Instructor, Operations Management – Business Analytics, Flexible Learning at our Downtown campus in Vancouver to deliver training in our Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics program.
Duties & Responsibilities
This contract includes instructional responsibilities such as: preparing and presenting classroom lectures, course delivery and assessment materials; providing practical demonstrations; and working collaboratively within our Business Analytics team and with the Program Head.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Business Intelligence or related Data Science and/or Decision Support Science degree.
  • Professional-level, current, subject matter expertise in business analytics.
  • Three years during the past ten, of demonstrated success in a Business Analytics role in North America.
  • Strong functional ability in Business Analytics tools such as MS Power BI, MS Excel, including Power tools, Statistical Add-on packages, and related extensions.
  • Experience with SQL, Python and/or R is a plus
  • Documented experience working as an Instructor in a post-secondary or industrial setting within a team environment is an asset.
  • Professional competence preparing, developing, delivering and administering post-secondary courses.
  • Excellent English-language communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal and people-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver in class and online learning in applied statistics, quantitative methodologies, and applied decision support tool sets.
  • Ability to motivate adult learners to achieve academic success.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other instructors and staff.
  • An established network of relevant professional contacts.

Salary Range $78.93 to $118.41 per contact hour, inclusive of vacation and holiday pay.
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
