Position Summary
BCIT’s Operations Management department is seeking a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE, 15 contact hours) Faculty, Operations Management.
Duties & Responsibilities
This position is available in the School of Business day school to teach courses relating to Business Operations Management. We are seeking an Instructor committed to quality and innovation in meeting our students’ learning needs, and who value the importance of teamwork in the workplace.

  • Recent leadership experience in any of the following industries:
    • Manufacturing
    • Advanced Technology
    • Health Care
    • Professional Services
    • Technical Services
    • Food/Agriculture
    • Construction
    • Mining
    • Transportation and Warehousing
    • Utilities
    • Wholesale Trade
    • Other sectors

  • Current experience involving the application of the subject areas,
  • Excellent English-language communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications,
  • Ability to work in a collegial environment,
  • Ability to lead other instructors and be led by other instructors in a team-teaching model,

  • Ability to teach in two or more of the following areas:
    • Operations Management
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Procurement
    • Project Management
    • Quality Management
    • Process Improvement
    • Business analysis and design
    • Change Management
    • Enterprise Resource Planning and Systems
    • Business Consulting Projects (Process Improvement or Design)


  • Experience teaching in a post-secondary institution,
  • Master’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience,
  • Membership or certification in appropriate professional bodies (e.g. ASCM, PMI, SCMA, ASQ)

Salary Range Salary Range: $63,150 - $110,238 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
