Position Summary | The Mining department in the School of Construction and the Environment at BCIT is seeking regular, full-time Faculty members to deliver courses in the Mineral Exploration and Mining Technology diploma program and the Mining and Mineral Resources Engineering degree program. The department is seeking mining engineers with knowledge and experience in at least two of the following areas:
The successful candidates will be committed to prepare students for an exciting career in the mining industry. Success of the BCIT mining diploma and degree programs is achieved through the faculty’s excellence in instruction, close ties with industry, and mentoring and motivating of the students to succeed. Graduates of both the diploma and degree programs find employment in a wide range of fields in both the public and private sectors. |
Duties & Responsibilities | The successful candidates will be expected to teach fundamental and advanced topics in a wide range of mining engineering courses. They will be responsible for developing course materials; delivering lectures and labs; developing and marking assignments and exams; supervising student projects; and planning and supervising field trips where necessary. They will be expected also to carry out duties necessary for successful operation of the program, including participation in department meetings, program accreditation, and student outreach activities. |

Salary Range | Salary Range: $63,150 - $110,238 per annum. |
Additional Salary Information | Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement. |
