Position Summary
Throughout 2022 BCIT will need temporary, full-time BCGEU Faculty in our  Welding programs. There are a variety of opportunities available that could lead to longer term employment. 
 

Duties & Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities within the Welding Department include instruction of apprentice & entry level to upgrading of journeymen on multi-process procedures. Preparing lesson plans, classroom lectures, practical demonstrations, care and maintenance of equipment and working collectively with the Department Head.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • IP Red seal journeyman welder with BC level ’’A" or out of province equivalent. 
  • Minimum five years at journeyman level. 
  • Must have pressure welding experiences and hold current pressure qualifications. 
  • Strong welding skills in various processes gained in heavy industry. 
  • Supervisory experience. 
  • Welding inspection certification is an asset. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrate or be willing to advance knowledge and skills necessary to instruct curriculum. 
  • Demonstrate or be willing to train for computer skills that are necessary to instruct curriculum. 
  • Provincial Instructors Diploma or willingness to complete would be an asset.

Salary Range $68,375 - $101,563 per annum. Prorated based on term of appointment.
